We had bowl of chowder and a pick plate which consists of pizza rolls..chippets...deep fried pickles and wontons it was very yummy all of it... would definitely recommend the food here while in tatamagouche crusing around. And check out all the shops here lots of cute little places to shop in.
The staff were so friendly and accommodating. We were a large group of 8 adults and 2 toddlers. Service was quick, especially considering the rest of the restaurant was full and the food was delicious. Especially the lobster roll! It was served on a pretzel bun and one of the best I’ve ever had!
Totally a wow experince...I will be back again... very quick and over the top friendly service from these lovely two servers. I ordered an egg salad sandwich and chicken soup, my sandwich was so fresh and it came with spinach and chunks of tomatoes ...so good! My hot chicken soup was full of big chunks of chicken and lots of yummy vegetables, another wow!!! The best was these two sweethearts with their warm hearts and very quick service, thanks for making my lunch a great experience...a must stop for next time ....thanks from Elaine McInnes Prince George BC
Neighbours from Alberta recommended the seafood chowder and it did not disappoint. I missed out on the music that was about to start yesterday because I wanted some people to take my table and all the other spots were reserved! It was a great stop and such a cute Main Street!
Wonderful place to find after a long cold rainy day of riding the ferry from PEI. Wonderful atmosphere and friendly owner. The clam chowder was fantastic and the Lobster Bake was excellent.
We had the seafood chowder, scallops, and cinnamon bun which were all delicious. Scallops were crispy on the outside, and melted like butter. Definitely going back next time we’re in the area!
Oh my goodness, the best meal in a restaurant in years! Tried a new menu item, Seafood Pot Pie came with bacon wrapped scallops, so large each had to be cut to eat, perfectly cooked, a lovely fresh salad and a big ramkin full of haddock, more scallops and shrimp in a delightful cream base topped with puff pastry and melted cheese. This was only 25. Service was happy and professional, no cell phones, customers 1st.

This charming eatery truly encapsulates the warmth and welcoming spirit of the town. The star of the show was undoubtedly their clam chowder. Served steaming hot, it was both delicious and plentiful, with a rich, creamy base that was perfectly seasoned. Every spoonful was a delight, comforting and filling - exactly what you'd hope for in a classic Maritime chowder. The ambiance of the Chowder House on Main added to the dining experience.
